Construction and launch of Moscow Potato Product Factory, a large production and experimental facility for potato processing and food manufacturing.
1963

1963

Establishment of Moskovskiy Kartofel brand: start of the first potato chips production in the USSR called “Moskovskiy Kartofel in slices”.
1967

1967

Koloss factory is founded. It’s still there today and it’s where we make our potato chips.
1977

1977

Koloss factory becomes a part of the All-Union research and manufacturing association for food preservation and special food technology.
1989

1989

Koloss launches an Italian automated potato chips production line with a capacity of 2 tons of finished product per hour. More potato chips for the Soviet Union!
1996

1996

New packaging design. That's when we created the famous "blue wave". Contrary to the belief that blue wouldn’t be a good color for food product, the new packaging had been introduced on a large scale. Sales soon increased 10-fold.

We are continuously improving our packaging to insure it’s always stylish and bright!

In 2011 Moskovskiy Kartofel becomes the first Russian manufacturer to introduce crinkle cut potato chips setting the trend for wavy slices and raising the quality bar.
